Default Parasitic Suffering

::Parasitic Suffering::

-Me/N
-Damage
-AoE / PvE / PvP

-Domination: 14 [10+4]
-Curses: 12
-Rest in Fast Casting + minor rune

-I use Radiant Insignias and Attunement runes to boost my energy up to 54, along with a Major Vigor and Vitae to keep my health at about 531 (along with a +60hp staff).

[skill]Soul Barbs[/skill][skill]Parasitic Bond[/skill][skill]Empathy[/skill]Cry Of Pain (not necessary)[skill]Insidious Parasite[/skill][skill]Web Of Disruption[/skill][skill]Signet Of Suffering[/skill][skill]Shatter Delusions[/skill]

NOTE: This build works just as well with a N/Me, but I personally chose Me/N because the points in Fast Casting help tremendously due to the casting times of some of the necro skills used in this build, even though not many points are invested into it.

EXTRA: You can Change out Cry of Pain for a skill of your choice or (of course) the Res Sig. CoP isn't necessary for PvE, it just makes a good AoE skill to have handy if your melee dies and you get caught in the middle of a group, etc.

CONCERNS: This build is very vulnerable to interrupts and *hex removal* because the recharge times and casting times of some of the spells tend to be a bit high and one interrupt (worst case scenario being the Signet) can close to ruin your groove

**Hex removal can be a -good- thing as long as you use Parasitic Bond as a cover. Because of the short recharge time, you can slap this on just about every foe you can find, and not only will you stay alive--but you'll also cover your hexes before using Signet of Suffering.

USE: A very simple build to use. First cast Soul Barbs on a foe; Monks, Elementalists, and my personal favorite, Dervs! The enchantments they cast on themselves can take a good chunk of their health away right off the bat. Then cast Parasitic Bond on every foe you can find, and then just use the skills in order from left to right. 20 or so seconds later, you should get a big burst of health which should either save you or keep you alive. Your MUST remember to recast Parasitic on the foes after it wears off! After using your signet, Shatter Delusions should be timed in order to trigger to second interrupt Web of Disruption has to offer. Now the big part. Turn your camera and look around at the ground below you, as it should be litered with dead bodies--stand on top of a corpse. Now dance.

CREDITS: All credits go to me and my two friends / guildies: Absolute Insainty, Brother of Rukia, and (myself) Im Your Kryptonite. If anyone knows of another user who has created a similar build, please don't harass me for it, I give my guild credit because we came up with it without any others help.

Try bringing Wastrel's Worry with you, 5 energy, almost instant cast, good with soul barbs over it.

Wouldn't you run outa energy fast in this build >.>? But since there is an optional spot I guess it could work with e-management. it seems decent.

Lol soul barbs with wastrel worry always goes through my head although it seems like an awesome combo

Actually I do often use Wastrels Worry, lol. I rune myself up with Attunement runes so I dont have much of an energy problem. The extra space makes room for whatever you need, which if you dont have 54-56 energy, might be something to regain it. Do you guys like?

I would put Shame or Guilt instead of Empathy or both when not equipped with Cry of Pain.

What does it do? The damage is mediocre, and well, that is about it?

I wasn't looking for people to call my build names. It works perfectly fine, better than any of the mes builds I've used. Can you point out what part you claim is mediocre?

And for Phantom:

Ive used both in the build, it's fairly versitile.

Mediocre is not a pejorative adjective, and thus would not be considered a name. That is assuming the context in which "name" is used means a pejorative label.

As for the build, it may work in PvE, but no utility and rez is not good. I also agree that damage is sub-par. ><

The fact that it focuses on damage without real strong shutdown (IE, Backfire) is partly why its mediocre, Signet of Suffering can only be used every 20 seconds, if you want damage, Energy Burn-Energy Surge can usually produce better results, and even then, there are better things for a mesmer to do.
Soul Barbs is always going to sub-par damage, even in the RI/SB build, making a build around this is usually going to be kinda bad. Mistrust, Empathy, Backfire, HEV, Clumsiness, Wandering Eye, Cry of Pain, Ether Nightmare, Ineptitude, Migraine, Power Interrupts, and Pyschic Distraction/Diversion (BHA is generally better, but these are good skills if you want to focus on shutting down spammers *cough* spirit rift *cough*) are some good skills to use in a build. I probably forgot a few too.

I personally like using SoI and using Ether Nightmare and Cry of Pain, along with some other utlility skills (doesnt matter what line with SoI in your build) if I really want to do damage; Ele and Rit still beat you in output, but if you ever feal the urge to see bunches of numbers pop on screen, then its usually a good build.

a heavy starting spike for this build:
Soul barbs
Enchanters canundrum [E]
Shatter Delusions
Frustration
Powerspike

Just those 5 skills dropped on a spellcasting proffession is some seriously heavy damage if everything is done the right way. Guilt or Shame could be used before enchanters aswell for a little extra damage/energy management.
Once i've capped Enchanters canundrum i'm gonna give this one a go, with some added skills to fill up the skillbar
